Russian plywood production grows to 274,000 m3 in year to July 31, up 4% year-over-year; wood veneered panels achieve panel sector's largest production volume increase of 9.1%

LOS ANGELES , September 4, 2013 () – Russian plywood production reached 274,000 m3 of plywood in the year to July 31, a year-over-year increase of 4%, according to a report by Russian news service Lesprom.

Citing figures provided by Rosstat the federal state statistics service, Lesprom reported that total production of veneer, plywood and wood based panels increased 0.5%, compared with the first seven months of 2012.

Veneer production posted the largest year-over-year decline in the sector of 12.8%, while fiberboard output dropped 9% and particleboard production by 3.3%. Wood veneered panels posted the highest volume growth of 9.1%.
