Russia's production of HDPE grows 2% month-over-month in July despite maintenance shut at Gazprom Neftekhim Salavat's 120,000 tonnes/year facility; country's HDPE production up 50% year-over-year in first seven months of 2013

September 3, 2013 () – Production levels of high-density polyethylene (HDPE)-producing firms in Russia have increased despite the intended shutdown of Gazprom Neftekhim Salavat's facility. Market Report revealed the country's total HDPE output grew by 2%, reaching 89,700 tonnes in Jul 2013, compared with 87,600 tonnes in Jun 2013. The one-month maintenance shutdown of the 120,000 tonnes/y HDPE facility started on 17 Jul 2013. The plant has produced around 5000 tonnes of HDPE, equivalent to over two weeks of uptime period, in Jul 2013. This dip in production was, nevertheless, compensated by increased output of Kazanorgsintez plant at 41,000 tonnes and Nizhnekamskneftekhim plant at 18,300 tonnes in Jul 2013. Stavrolen's HDPE capacity output remained at 25,500 tonnes from Jun to Jul 2013. During Jan-Jul 2013 Russia produced 608,500 tonnes HDPE, up 50% on the same period of 2012.
