ST. LOUIS, Missouri , August 21, 2013 (press release) – Machine and support technologies will be highlighted

Mark Andy Inc. announces its presence at Labelexpo Europe 2013 to be held 24-27 September in Brussels, Belgium. Continuing its commitment to providing productive and profitable label and package printing solutions to converters worldwide, Mark Andy will demonstrate its latest product innovations in Hall 5, Stand C10.

Cutting-edge technologies will be integrated into the company’s industry-leading press platform, Mark Andy Performance Series. Mark Andy ProLED will be featured on the Performance Series P3. ProLED is an integrated, proven curing solution that uses LED, the most energy efficient UV curing source available. The integrated system developed by Mark Andy cures specialty inks and coatings on a variety of substrates including thinner filmic materials, in most cases with no requirement for heat management, a significant benefit over traditional mercury curing systems. With a truly focused cure process, the carbon footprint of the press decreases significantly and converters can save more than 50% energy usage over traditional mercury UV solutions. A full line of UV LED rated inks, coatings, and adhesives are readily available and have been tested and implemented successfully in production environments.

Also on display will be the best-selling of all Performance Series models, the Performance Series P5. The in-line press to be featured on-stand will showcase its extremely flexible platform, integrating multiple printing and converting technologies including the innovation award-winning die cutting platform, Quick Change Die Cut (QCDC). Developed to remove the workflow bottleneck caused by long die changeovers and slower stripping speeds, the unique component design of QCDC results in more consistent die cutting and little to no liner strikes. The unique cassette and cart system allows dies to be changed on press quickly and efficiently, decreasing changeover times by up to 80%, cutting total changeover time down from 7:30 minutes to an average of 1:30 minutes. The simplified change-out method also drastically minimizes die damage caused by awkward and inefficient hoist usage. This technology is available on new Performance Series presses and can also be retrofitted to existing installations.

Enhanced productivity is also a focus for the newly updated Mark Andy VPM400. The video plate mounter now features HD digital cameras with ultra-high resolution monitors. This update, along with the laser pointer for quick alignment, affords the operator even more precise and accurate plate mounting for critical print jobs. The VPM400 continues to offer the heavy-duty construction and durability expected of Mark Andy equipment, and this new HD technology with ultra-high resolution monitors is available as a retrofit or as the standard on new orders. The technology will be available as a hands-on display, allowing visitors to experience the simplicity and accuracy of the VPM400 for themselves.

Flexible packaging experts will share information regarding Mark Andy’s latest mid-web sleeve press, Versa Max. Versa Max features best-in-industry changeover times and unmatched print quality by providing the utmost value to the consumer. Versa Max minimizes plate cost with a minimum print repeat of 10 inches (254mm), as well as cuts down on ink waste by virtue of the unique print station architecture. Its robust design is a fusion of Comco and Mark Andy technologies, offering continuous full-rated speed around the clock while purpose-built drying solutions deliver maximum productivity.

Visitors at Labelexpo Europe will also learn about how Mark Andy offers total support throughout the product life cycle. The highly experienced Customer Support staff is committed to providing the highest OE quality parts, technical service, training and more to the more than 12000 press and finishing systems installed worldwide. Team members will be on hand to discuss the latest technologies and programs offered through the group including the latest cloud-based service management system that allows service technicians instant connection to Mark Andy headquarters, providing improved on-site troubleshooting and analysis.

Live demonstrations of equipment will be held daily on the Mark Andy stand. In addition to the latest printing technologies, the Mark Andy stand will feature a range of Rotoflex finishing solutions.
