China bans imports of poultry, poultry products from Arkansas, the second-largest US chicken producer, after low-pathogenic strain of bird flu found in state last month

LOS ANGELES , July 30, 2013 () – U.S. government and industry officials said that China has banned imports of poultry and poultry products from Arkansas after a low-pathogenic strain of bird flu was found in the state in June, Thomson Reuters Corp. reported July 30.

The ban is in effect on all products shipped from July 22.

Arkansas is the second-largest U.S. chicken producer behind Georgia.
