According to the abstract* posted by the World Intellectual Property Organization: "The present invention provides a method for monitoring use of an absorbent product (15), such as an incontinence pad or a diaper, worn by a user(14). The method comprises the step of detecting (S4), by means of an odour sensor device (3a;3b) capable of being carried by the user (14) and configured to communicate with a mobile device (2) of the user, at least one chemical indicative of a presence of urine and/or faeces in the product. It further comprises the steps of transmitting (S5) a signal indicative of said detection from the odour sensor device (3a;3b) to the mobile device (2), receiving (S6) the signal in the mobile device (2), and providing (S7), by means of the mobile device, product-related information to the user based on the signal.In this way, the user (14) can be provided with valuable information related to the use of the product (15), for example recommendations on when to change the product, displayed on the mobile device."
