Canon Solutions America, Inc., a wholly owned subsidiary of Canon U.S.A., today announced that Financial Statement Services Inc. (FSSI), a full-service print and mail leader specializing in the design/redesign, production and delivery of high-impact statements, letters, and other time-critical customer communications, has installed an Océ ColorStream® 3900 digital color printing system, part of the Océ ColorStream 3000 Twin Series.
Founded in 1980, FSSI provides a wide array of print and mail solutions to financial services, insurance, healthcare and government entities from its 168,000 square-foot corporate headquarters in Santa Ana, CA. Widely recognized as one of the largest independent woman-owned print service providers in the western United States, FSSI has been a pioneering technology leader in outsourced document production. Keeping up with technological advances can be difficult, admits president, Jennifer Dietz. So when FSSI found itself with a number of printers going off-lease, the company embarked on an ambitious 18-month quest to identify the “latest and greatest technology” to add to its arsenal. FSSI’s technical staff hit the road, meeting with makers of various digital printing systems and actual users. That search led them to Canon Solutions America and specifically to the Océ ColorStream 3900 digital color printing system.

FSSI was drawn to Canon Solutions America because of its experience with transactional print, which Dietz refers to as “our world.” The Océ ColorStream 3900 appealed to FSSI due to its near-offset quality, fast output, outstanding reliability and low cost of use. Other selling points included its pause capabilities, low paper usage and availability of such Ocè PRISMA workflow software offerings as E-forms, InkControl™ and TrueProof™.

From the moment FSSI flipped the switch on its new ColorStream 3900, the quality of its output was stellar. Once word of the new equipment hit the streets, clients have been excited about the benefits of the digital color printing system.

The Océ ColorStream 3000 Twin Series is the series of high-speed, high-quality full-color inkjet printers with a speed of 157 up to 417 feet per minute for 344 up to 1818 letter images per minute. The series consists of four printer models ranging from 157 up to 417 feet per minute, which translates to 344 up to 1818 letter impressions per minute. The configurations easily support monthly volumes of up to 56 million letter impressions. The Océ ColorStream series starts with the Océ ColorStream 3200 system printing at 157 feet per minute with a maximum print width of 17". The remaining three models feature a print width of up to 21.25". The Océ ColorStream 3500 system prints at 246 feet per minute, the Océ ColorStream 3700 prints at 328 feet per minute and the Océ ColorStream 3900 prints at 417 feet per minute.
