Coal prices in five U.S. coal commodity regions in the week ended June 21 were unchanged from the previous week, according to figures from the U.S. Energy Information Administration supplied by SNL Energy and reported June 24.
Average weekly coal commodity spot prices were as follows, in dollars per short ton:
Central Appalachia 12,500 Btu, 1.2 SO2: US$67.27, unchanged from previous week
Northern Appalachia13,000 Btu, <3.0 SO2: US$66.00, unchanged from previous week
Illinois Basin 11,800 Btu, 5.0 SO2: US$45.15, unchanged from previous week
Powder River Basin 8,800 Btu 0.8 SO2: US$10.55, unchanged from previous week
Uinta Basin 11,700 SO2: US35.85, unchanged from previous week
