Prinzhorn Holding GMBH unit Dunapack Packaging has completed the acquisition of Turkey’s fourth-largest paper and packaging manufacturer Dentaş Ambalaj Ve Kağit Sanayi AŞ, marking the company’s entrance into the expanding Turkish market, Packaging Europe reported June 3.
Vienna-based Dunapack’s acquisition of Dentaş Ambalaj, whose annual corrugated board production is 180,000 tonnes, would boost its overall sales volume by 33% to 700,000 tonnes/year. Dunapack aims to double its production by 2020.
Dunapack has been a leader in corrugated packaging in Central and Eastern Europe, Packaging Europe reported.
Meanwhile, Dentaş Ambalaj has a 10% share in the Turkish market and has three production sites in the Turkish cities of Denizli, Adana and Corlu. It serves about 3,000 customers, mostly in the agricultural, food and beverage sectors.
Following the acquisition, Dunapack has 14 corrugated board plants across nine countries, reported Packaging Europe.
