Chinese exports of paper and paperboard in 2013's first two months up 9.8% year-over-year to 731,000 tonnes, while export value total of US$890M jumped 21.3% year-over-year, reports China Customs Agency

Based on data from China Customs Agency, in first two months of 2013, China exported a total of 731,000 mts of paper & paper board (not cut to length), jumping 9.8% year on year. Export value was US$ 890 million, surging 21.3% year on year. Among which, export of newsprint and Kraft linerboard amplified to 871 mts and 18,000 mts respectively, a rise of two folds and 1.5 times as before. Export of paper with mineral coating was 435,000 mts, slipping 4.8% year on year. Export of corrugating medium and premium coated paper were 4,480 mts and 170,000 mts, dipping 21% and 23.6% year on year respectively.

ASEAN became the largest export destination of paper with mineral coating from China

According to data from China Customs Agency, in first two months of 2013, China exported 65,000 mts of paper with mineral coating to ASEAN, jumping 11.4% year on year. Among which, export of a/m products to India was 31,000 mts, surging 26.3% year on year. China exported 21,000 mts and 18,000 mts of paper with mineral coating to the US and EU, dipping 7.4% and 5% year on year respectively.

In first two months of 2013, China exported 41,000 mts of premium coated paper to Japan, slumping 51.5% year on year and accounting for 24% of export totals. China exported 23,000 mts of premium coated paper to ASEAN, dipping 5.1% year on year and accounting for 13.5% of export totals. China exported 4,394 mts of premium coated paper to EU, jumping 36.8% year on year. China exported 2,074 mts of a/m product to the UA, slumping 56.2% year on year.

In first two months of 2013, UAE became first largest export market of newsprint. China exported 419 mts of newsprint to UAE in first two months of 2013。China exported 8,720 mts of Kraft linerboard to ASEAN, a jump of 2.9 times year on year.

Nanjing Port is the main port for export

In the first two months, 198,000 mts of paper and paperboard were exported in Nanjing Port, dipping 9.8% year on year and export value was US$ 200 million, dipping 12.4% year on year. Qingdao and Shenzhen Port ranked 2nd and 3rd to US$ 140 million and US$ 130 million.

In the first two months, 135000 mts of paper with mineral coating were exported in Nanjing Port, slipping 19.3% year on year. 3788 mts of corrugating medium were exported in Shenzhen Port, dipping 26.3% year on year. 713 mts of newsprint were exported in Qingdao Port. Shenzhen and Shanghai Port are key port for export of Kraft Linerboard to 9,634 mts and 3,586 mts respectively, a jump of 3.6 times and 1.1 times year on year.

In the first two months of 2013, foreign funded firms in China exported a total of 540,000 mts of paper and paperboard, jumping 3.2% year on year. Among which, export of paper with mineral coating were 339,000 mts, dipping 8.8% year on year.

In first two months of 2013, 44% of export of paper and paperboard concentrated on top ten exporters. Among which Gold East Paper (Jiangsu Co) and UMP (China) continued their first and second place. Gold Huasheng Paper (Suzhou Industrial Park) and Ningbo APP Co ranked 3rd and 4th. Ningbo Chung Hwa Pulp & Paper Corporation and APP JInhai Pulp and Paper Co in Hainan ranked 5th and 6th . The last four were APRIL(Guangdong) Co., Shandong Chenming Paper, Sun Paper and Zhanjiang Chenming Paper Co.
