LOS ANGELES , May 22, 2013 () – According to newly released preliminary data from Beverage Marketing Corp., the U.S. liquid refreshment beverage market grew 1% in 2012, the third consecutive year of growth following two straight years of declines, The Shelby Report reported May 21.

Total volume reached 29.8 billion gallons, with carbonated soft drinks (CBDs) remaining the biggest category. CBD volume fell 1.8% to 13.3 billion gallons, making the segment's market share 45%.
