SAO PAULO , May 16, 2013 (press release) – Theme of event will be Clean Technology and Ecoefficiency

The largest event of Latin America's pulp and paper industry, ABTCP 2013 – 46th Pulp and Paper International Congress and Exhibition will take place from October 8th to October 10th at the Transamerica Expo Center in Sao Paulo, and is expected to bring together more than 180 exhibitors and some 8,000 visitors from various countries.

Held by the Brazilian Technical Association for Pulp and Paper (ABTCP), the event will explore the theme of "Clean Technology and Ecoefficiency," featuring technical sessions on recovery and utilities, environment, forest-based resources, engineering and maintenance, pulp and paper.

For this edition, the Association has entered into a partnership with PI – Paper Engineers' Association, from Finland, a leading country in paper production. The participation by the Finnish institution will contribute to showcase the industry's latest technological developments.

The big news about ABTCP 2013 involves the alteration of the space provided for the technical congress, which will be merged with the exhibit area. "In addition, we will have a technical forestry session in partnership with the Institute for Forestry Research and Study (IPEF), and a schedule that seeks to strike a balance between academic and practical studies", emphasizes Claudio Chiari , technical manager of ABTCP. The Association has also decided to anticipate in one hour the exhibit schedule, that will start at 12:00 noon.

Darcio Berni , ABTCP Executive Director, stresses that the purpose of these innovations is to allow for greater interaction among visitors, congress attendees and exhibitors. "By expanding the flow of people within the exhibit area, contact will be stimulated, enabling everyone to make the most of what the event has to offer to each and every participant," he notes.
With its mission of fostering knowledge exchange and technological development of the industry, ABTCP 2013 is the main gathering of executives, academics, researchers and professionals in the pulp and paper industry.
