MISSISSAUGA, Ontario , May 16, 2013 (press release) – Target Canada is pleased to announce a new exclusive partnership with Beaver Canoe, a member of the Roots Canada family. The Beaver Canoe for Target collection will consist of apparel items for the entire family, as well as home décor products, a first for the Beaver Canoe brand. The apparel collection will launch in Target stores across Canada Sept. 8, 2013, with the home collection hitting stores on Sept. 15. This partnership marks Roots second exclusive collection with Target in Canada.

"Our first collaboration with Target was such a valuable opportunity for us as we were able to make Roots more accessible to Canadians," said Michael Budman, co-founder, Roots, alongside co-founder Don Green. "We are looking forward to continuing our relationship with Target through the launch of the new Beaver Canoe collection, a brand that carries such a nostalgic feeling for Canadians. The Roots brand has its heritage in both home and apparel; however, this marks the first time Beaver Canoe has entered the home and decor category, so it's a very exciting time for us."

Founded in 1982 as part of Roots Canada, Beaver Canoe brings a modern take on adventurous living and is inspired by rustic Canadian heritage.

"We are proud to announce our partnership with Beaver Canoe, a classic Canadian brand that so many Canadians know and love," said John Morioka, senior vice-president, merchandising, Target Canada. "After a successful partnership with Roots, we are excited to see our relationship evolve and to be able to offer our guests a new line that combines style with functionality at an affordable price."

The Beaver Canoe for Target apparel collection consists of functional pieces including hoodies, sweatshirts, t-shirts, track pants and long-sleeve tops for toddlers to adults, as well as outerwear and accessories for men and women. Prices range from $7.99 to $99.99.

Diane Bald, design director at Roots Canada, is the visionary behind the new Beaver Canoe for Target home collection which incorporates a balance of style and purpose. It is made up of more than 65 pieces, including furniture, pillows, lighting, frames, vases and candles and prices range from $7.99 - $99.99.

"Working closely with Target, we created a line we are really proud of. Perfect for fall, the collection draws inspiration from the Canadian outdoors, specifically Algonquin Park," said Bald. "It's a mix of rustic and modern, so you can enjoy the coziness of the cottage in the comfort of your own home all year long."

The Beaver Canoe for Target collection will be available in stores this fall and throughout 2014. For more information, visit www.target.ca.
