The Honourable Denis Lebel, Minister of Transport, Infrastructure and Communities, Minister of the Economic Development Agency of Canada for the Regions of Quebec and Minister of Intergovernmental Affairs, today announced that the firm Wickham Hardwood Flooring has been granted financial assistance to purchase, install and program production equipment.
"By supporting Wickham Hardwood Flooring in acquiring leading-edge technology, the Government of Canada is once again showing its commitment to investing in projects that help grow the economy," said Minister Lebel.
Founded in 1989, Wickham Hardwood Flooring is a global enterprise specialized in the manufacture of hardwood flooring strips. It distributes hand-hammered wood strips, exotic wood and engineered wood primarily in the United States, Europe and Asia. The project being funded will enable the company to improve its manufacturing processes, boost its production capacity and, lastly, reduce its handling costs.
"Our Government remains focused on four priorities, as outlined by the Prime Minister, that Canadians care most about: their families, the safety of our streets and communities, their pride in being a citizen of this country, and of course, their personal financial security," concluded Minister Lebel.

This assistance, granted in the form of a $1 million repayable financial contribution, has been awarded through Canada Economic Development's Business and Regional Growth program.
