Russian beef and pork production up 24.8% year-over-year to 364,000 tonnes in Q1, while poultry production up 5.2% to 870,000 tonnes, government says; fish products production rises 7.5% to 1.1 million tonnes

Russia increased production of meat and subproducts (excluding poultry meat) 24.8% to 364,000 tonnes in the first quarter of 2013 year-on-year, the Federal State Statistics Service (Rosstat) reported on Monday.
Production in March alone rose 24.6% year-on-year.
Production of poultry meat and subproducts increased 5.2% in the three months year-on-year to 870,000 tonnes.
Production of semi-finished meat products increased 2.2% to 367,000 tonnes in the three months, output of canned meat products was up 33.7% to 22.5 million standard cans and production of sausage products declined 2% to 356,000 tonnes.
Fish and fish products output rose 7.5% to 1.1 million tonnes and juice and nectar production rose 4.6% to 577 million standard cans.
Processed dairy output increased 2.9% to 1.4 million tonnes, but condensed milk product output was down 2.3% to 204 million standard cans and output of dairy butter and pasta edged down 1.3% to 46,300 tonnes.
Production of unrefined sunflower oil declined 15.8% to 811,000 tonnes, bakery goods production was down 3.5% to 1.5 million tonnes, while flour production edged up 0.1% to 2.2 million tonnes.
