Westlake Chemical announces that director Bill Barnett will retire

HOUSTON , April 5, 2013 (press release) – Westlake Chemical Corporation (WLK) announced today that E. William (Bill) Barnett, a director of the company since 2006, has informed the company that he has elected to retire from the board after completing his current term, which will expire at the 2013 annual meeting of stockholders of the company. As a result, Mr. Barnett will not stand for re-election at the annual meeting.

Mr. James Chao, the chairman of Westlake's board, said, "We are extremely grateful to Bill for his years of service on our board. Among many contributions, he acted as chair of our Nominating and Governance Committee during a period of growth and challenging regulatory changes.
