LONDON , March 15, 2013 (press release) – On opening the ICIS 'PET Value Chain: Unlocking the Potential' conference in Amsterdam yesterday, the chair Peter Davis Director General of the British Plastics Federation, mentioned to the 80 delegates that the European Commission last week published a Green Paper on Plastic Waste in the Environment.

He said to the delegates, “This is an important development highlighting negatively as it does used plastics impact on the environment and alleged risk to health. We would also say this could affect our competitiveness against other materials”.

Peter Davis urged all companies to respond to the consultation by the 7th June. He said, “It’s very important your companies, guided by your Trade Associations respond individually so that our voice is heard loud and clear”.
