BIO World Congress on Industrial Biotechnology 2013

Global biofuel and renewable chemical company executives and managers developing strategies to further commercialization will speak in breakout sessions at BIO’s 10th annual World Congress on Industrial Biotechnology this June in Montreal, Canada. The Biotechnology Industry Organization (BIO) announced its breakout program for the 2013 World Congress on Industrial Biotechnology featuring seven tracks and more than 40 sessions with an emphasis on commercialization in industrial biotech.

“We are excited to celebrate the 10th anniversary of BIO’s World Congress giving us the perfect opportunity to look back and see how far the industry has progressed towards commercialization of industrial biotech,” said Brent Erickson, executive vice president for BIO’s Industrial & Environmental Section. “This information-packed breakout program in Montreal will feature speakers that will highlight how biorefineries are producing new employment opportunities and jump-starting economic development when they’re needed most. Industrial biotechnology companies are helping to lead an explosion of innovation.”

The seven breakout tracks covering the latest progress in commercializing advanced biofuels and renewable chemicals, company partnerships and more in industrial biotechnology include Advanced Biofuels and Biorefinery Platforms; Feedstock Crops and Biomass Supply; Renewable Chemical Platforms and Biobased Materials; Specialty Chemicals, Pharmaceutical Intermediates and Food Ingredients; Synthetic Biology and Microbial Genomics; Technical Presentations; and the all new Academic Research Presentations track.
