US patent issued to Dow Global Technologies for ethanol-free aqueous perfume composition

United States Patent no. 8,343,521, issued on Jan. 1, was assigned to Dow Global Technologies LLC.
"Ethanol-Free Aqueous Perfume Composition" was invented by Reed A. Shick (Midland, Mich.), Christian Piechocki (Marienthal, France), Christopher J. Tucker (Midland, Mich.) and Letha A. Gatz (Midland, Mich.).
According to the abstract released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "The present invention relates to an ethanol-free, non-fatty, non-sticky perfumed aqueous cosmetic microemulsion composition, including one or more fragrance materials, a solvent, an aqueous medium, and optionally, one or more surfactants; wherein the solvent in the microemulsion is a vicinal diol such as 1,2-hexanediol."
The patent was filed on April 21, 2005, under Application No. 11/579,301.
