NewPage announces Jan. 1 US$30/tonne northern and southern hardwood pulp price increase for North America, to US$785/tonne

LOS ANGELES , January 3, 2013 () – NewPage Corp. has announced a Jan. 1 US$30/tonne increase for bleached hardwood kraft pulp (BHKP) for North America, according to buyer information.

The announcement, made on Dec. 27, puts its list prices of northern bleached hardwood kraft (NBHK) and southern bleached hardwood kraft (SBHK) at $785/tonne.

NewPage’s Jan. 1 plan matches that of a number of other North American BHKP producers.

NewPage, based in Miamisburg, Ohio, sells market pulp from some of its printing and specialty paper mills, all located in the U.S.
