Agricultural output in the country was worth 335.3 billion rubles in November alone, 7.4% less year-on-year.
As of December 1, farms of all categories (agricultural organizations, farms, and private gardens) had threshed 74.4 million tonnes of grain by initially reported weight versus 99.2 million tonnes on the same date last year. The sunflower seed crop amounted to 7.8 million tonnes versus 9.5 million tonnes, sugar beet - 42.3 million tonnes versus 46 million tonnes, potatoes - 29.2 million tonnes versus 32.6 million tonnes, and vegetables - 14.4 million tonnes versus 14.6 million tonnes.
Rosstat data show that a quarter less grain has been threshed this year, the sunflower crop is down 18%, sugar beet - 8.1%, potatoes and vegetables - 10.4% and 1.0%, respectively.
As in previous years, the bulk of the grain (76.9%), of sugar beet (87.5%), and sunflower (72.2%) was cultivated at agricultural organizations, while private plots of land produced 79.1% of the potatoes and 69.9% of the vegetables.
Rural growers gathered in 22.1% of the grain and 27.3% of the sunflower seed. In 2011, these figures were a respective 21.9% and 27.2%. They and individual entrepreneurs accounted for somewhat less of the relative weight as regards the production of potatoes.
