LOS ANGELES , December 13, 2012 () – Wendy's Co. CFO Steve Hare said the company would focus more on low-priced menu items in 2013 in order to compete with other fast-food chains that are focusing on cost-conscious consumers, The Wall Street Journal reported Dec. 12.

Speaking to investors at a recent conference, Hare said that Wendy's customer traffic has been "flat to slightly down" in 2012, partly because of more effectiveness on its premium menu items rather than its value menu.
