SRINAGAR, India , December 7, 2012 () – Paper companies across the world have been taking initiative towards environmental friendly technologies and processes. JK Paper is doing its bit in this respect.

J K Paper's tie-up with Hewlett Packard (HP) for its 'ColorLok' technology in producing copier papers is an example. JK Paper, besides joining the select List of 10 leading Global Paper Companies like Stora Enso, M-Real, Mondi, APRIL, is now the only Indian Company to avail HP's ColorLok technology.

Colorlok Paper is easy to de-ink and that makes it eco-friendly. This is another step by JK Paper towards being environment friendly in addition to its many steps towards reducing energy and water conservation as also encourage greening by its active social forestry programme.

The paper manufactured using ColorLok technology reduces the "strike-through" (jargon for ink showing on the back of the paper). This makes it easier for double-sided printing reducing the consumption of paper significantly. It may be noted here that ColorLok technology was introduced after HP conducted as many as 127 tests. ColorLok is an internationally recognized benchmark for quality. Leading suppliers of stationery worldwide such as Staples and Office Depot also promote ColorLok papers.

JK Paper, India's largest player in branded copier paper, organized a knowledge sharing programme in Srinagar to provide detailed information on HP's Colorlok technology and explain its benefits to the distributors, jobbers and retailers apart from its direct customers. The comprehensive awareness programme covers various trade channels, corporates, professionals, students and home users of desk printers.

The event also highlighted the recent trends in digital printing and its future growth in India. In particular, how digital printing would be a game changer in the paper industry and its impact for marketing and consumers. Taking into view increasing sophistication in printing, photocopying machines, inkjet and laser jet printers, demand for high quality papers will increase substantially and hence there is a growing demand for papers with ColorLok technology.

Speaking on the occasion, AK Ghosh, VP (Marketing & Sales), JK Paper said, "We have been organising road-shows throughout the country to educate and inform the customers about how JK Paper produces high-value paper like ColorLok and the benefits that it offers. Today's event is a continuation of these efforts." Thanks to JK Paper's tie-up with HP, the entire range of Copier papers namely JK Copier Plus, JK Copier, JK Easy Copier, Sparkle and Cedar now is available in the market with Colorlok technology.
