Wausau Paper Corp. announced today that it is increasing the global prices of bleached and natural technical papers grades by 3% to 8%, effective with shipments on Jan. 1.
The increases, which apply to Wausau Paper’s food industry papers, tape base products, industrial specialty products, release liner products, and silicone coated products “are driven by continued cost increases for key inputs,” the company said in its statement to customers today.
Wausau Paper said the increases are “predicated on the category of the product, contract structure, and regional currency,” as follows:
•Food Industry Papers – 3%-5%
•Tape Base Products – 4%-6%
•Industrial Specialty Products –3%-6%
•Release Liner Products – 5%-8%
•Silicone Coated Products – 3%-5%
Wausau Paper previously announced a July 1, 2012, global price increase for select technical specialty grades, of US$60/ton.
Wausau Paper is based in Mosinee, Wisconsin.
