Departures magazine to increase its rate base by 3% to 900,000 from 875,000 beginning January 2013, reports its 2012 ad revenue is up 21% year-over-year

– DEPARTURES Vice President and Publisher Steven DeLuca announced today that DEPARTURES will increase its rate base to 900,000, effective with the January/February issue. This is a three percent increase from the current 875,000 guarantee. Total circulation for the magazine increased to 1,111,424 for the sixth-month period ending June 2012 (June 2012 BPA Publishers Statement).
Now in its 23rd year, DEPARTURES is the only media property to reach a 100% qualified audience of affluent consumers with no waste. DEPARTURES is delivered to the households of 1.1 million Platinum Card® and Centurion® members from American Express with an average household income of $619,000(DEPARTURES 2011 Ipsos Mendelsohn Reader Survey).

This rate base increase comes on the heels of continued revenue and paging gains. DEPARTURES' September issue climbed 30 percent in ad revenue and 20 percent in paging compared to the same in 2011. The publication is ahead 21 percent in ad revenue and 6.2 percent in paging year-to-date versus January through September 2011.
