Dean Foods Co. is expected to close down its dairy plant in Evart, Michigan, because its contract with retailer Meijer Inc. is coming to an end, The Associated Press reported Aug. 28.
According to a news article by MLive.com, Dean Foods plans to lay off 43 workers at the plant before the end of August and 54 more employees in October, leaving fewer than 60 employees at the plant.
In February, most of the facility is expected to be closed.
