LOS ANGELES , July 30, 2012 () – Pepsi-Cola Products Philippines Inc. reported first-half net earnings of 578 million Philippine pesos (US$13.8 million), compared with net earnings of 107 million pesos, The Manila Standard reported July 30.

Strong sales of both carbonated and non-carbonated beverages, and lower raw and packaging costs were cited by the company as the main reasons for the earnings increase. Sales rose 16% to 11.3 billion pesos.

Sales costs increased 4% on increased volume and a 32% drop in average sugar prices.
