Sixty-four percent of Americans report drinking at least one cup of coffee/day, compared with 63% in 1999, according to poll

LOS ANGELES , July 25, 2012 () – Sixty-four percent of Americans report drinking at least one cup of coffee per day, Gallup reported July 23.

That’s nearly identical to the 63% who drank coffee in 1999, the Gallup poll said.

The average number of reported cups consumed by coffee drinkers was 2.5, compared with 2.9 in 1999, according to the poll.
