LOS ANGELES , July 11, 2012 () – According to data released by brewers, Japanese beer shipments for the first half of 2012 rose 0.4% year-over-year to 201.056 million cases, attributed to strong sales campaigns by beer makers at restaurants and other places, Dow Jones Newswires reported July 11.

For the third year in a row, Asahi Group Holdings Ltd. maintained the top market share, with 37.3% of shipments in the latest reporting period. Kirin Holdings Co. had the second-largest share at 35.6%.
