LOS ANGELES , July 9, 2012 () – Carrefour S.A. is putting the brakes on its India store-expansion plans because of the weakening domestic and international economy, according to a report in the Business Standard that cited unnamed sources, Dow Jones Newswires reported July 9.

The move comes only six months after Carrefour negotiated about a dozen real estate leases around the country in preparation for expansion, the publication reported, citing its unnamed sources.
