SEBASTOPOL, California , July 9, 2012 (press release) – Safari® Books Online (www.safaribooksonline.com), the leading on-demand digital library for technology, digital media and business professionals, today announced that the US Department of Defense (DOD) has once again chosen to renew its license to Safari Books Online's digital learning library. The contract renewal, which increases seat access by more than 30%, allows active and retired military personnel and families, including DOD personnel, access to resources including professional learning on a wide array of skills. Learning resources available cover many topics including technical (IT development, IT security and more), creative (desktop publishing, web development, digital photography and more), business (supervising, hiring and recruitment and finance), and personal and professional development (like personal finance, saving for college, managing stress, parenting and home buying).

“We are thrilled by the continued confidence the US Department of Defense demonstrates in renewing its contract with Safari Books Online”

Under the new agreement with the DOD, made possible through the branch library network and funded by MWR, active and retired personnel of any military branch plus their families along with certain DOD employees and contractors can apply for complimentary access to Safari Books Online’s extensive online library – consisting of more than 20,000 books and videos. Users can gain access by registering in the library section at the Knowledge Portal (Navy Knowledge Online, Army Knowledge Online, Air Force Online) of each military branch or by registering at Military One Source.
