Tyson Foods announces Arex Lee as CEO of its China operations

Tyson Foods, Inc. today announced that Arex Lee has been appointed Chief Executive Officer of Tyson Foods’ China operations. He will oversee Tyson DaLong, Tyson Shandong and Tyson Jiangsu.
Prior to joining Tyson, Arex worked for more than 25 years with one of the leading poultry companies in China. His industry experience includes the full range of poultry operations, and sales and marketing management. His operations experience includes management of feed mills, contract farming, processing operations, as well as breeder, hatchery and broiler operations. Arex has managed strategy development activities in China and is recognized by customers and other poultry companies as a leader in China’s poultry industry.
Arex is originally from Taiwan and served in the Taiwan Marine Corp. He is an industrial engineer and has earned a Master of Business Administration degree.
Tyson Foods has had a presence in China since 2001. The country has a population of 1.3 billion and chain restaurants are currently opening at a rate of one every 18 hours. Annual per capita meat consumption in China is about 20 pounds per person, compared to 89 pounds in the United States.
