The outcome of attempts by cartonboard producers to raise prices for GD board and greyboard in Germany remains unclear in May and negotiations continue, reported EUWID-Paper on May 8.
Prices for GD board, also known as white-lined chipboard, varied. Some producers posted hikes in April and others as of May 1; however, the success of these was uncertain as of the end of April.
GD board was readily available at existing prices, according to several converters. Small hikes were reported by some manufacturers, but most sources said negotiations were ongoing.
Greyboard price increases succeeded at levels near what those originally announced, said some companies. However, an equal number of sources indicated that they had not paid more in April, EUWID-Paper reported.
