Carrefour's market share in France reportedly shrank by 1.4 percentage points to 21% in four weeks ending April 15, with hypermarkets, supermarkets both losing share

LOS ANGELES , May 4, 2012 () – Carrefour SA's French market share dropped by 1.7 percentage points to 21% in the four weeks that ended April 15, according to French news website LSA in a story citing figures from  market research firm Kantar.

Hypermarkets fell 1.2 percentage points to 11.4% and supermarkets dipped 0.6 point to 7.9%, according to the report.

Carrefour declined to comment, and Kantar officials were not immediately available to comment.
