International Paper Co. today announced that it is increasing its prices of southern bleached hardwood kraft (SBHK) by US$30/tonne, effective May 1, according to an informed source.
IP did not specify the new prices in today’s announcement.
Several producers of bleached eucalyptus kraft pulp (BEKP) have announced global May 1 $30/tonne prices, and late last week there were global and regional $30/tonne price hike announcements for northern bleached hardwood kraft (NBHK) pulp.
According to its website, IP manufactures both SBSK and SBHK at its mills in Riegelwood, North Carolina; Eastover, South Carolina; and Saillat, France. It manufactures bleached eucalyptus kraft pulp (BEKP) at its Mogi Guacu and Luiz Antonio mills in Brazil. It makes bleached chemi-thermomechanical Pulp (BCTMP) at its mill in Svetogorsk, Russia, and it makes northern bleached softwood kraft (NBSK) pulp and NBHK at its mill in Kwidzyn, Poland.
