CHARLOTTE, North Carolina , April 23, 2012 (press release) – Today Chobani, America’s #1 yogurt brand, officially announced Charlotte, N.C., as home to its North American Sales Headquarters. Chobani’s offices, which will span 5,200 square feet on the 16th floor of the Charlotte Plaza Building, are scheduled to open later this summer.

“Not only is Charlotte my favorite city, it’s a great fit for Chobani,” said Kyle O’Brien, Executive Vice President of Sales, Chobani Global Holdings, Inc. “It’s home to talented people as well as amazing networking opportunities and cultural amenities. Plus we’re excited to get involved in the Charlotte community.”

As part of its long-term growth plans in the Charlotte market, Chobani plans to expand its current sales force from 17 to approximately 60 positions by the end of 2013. The average salary for the new positions will be approximately $70,000 and will include retail analysis, trade marketing sales support and direct sales jobs.

Chobani’s “Nothing but Good” philosophy, which includes supporting local farmers, job creation and community outreach, will be instrumental at their new site as the company begins to form roots in the Charlotte community. The Shepherd’s Gift Foundation — Chobani’s charitable arm, which gives 10% of the company’s post-tax profits to groups working towards positive change — will also be integrated into the company’s Charlotte initiatives.

About Chobani

As America’s #1 yogurt brand, Chobani was founded on the belief that people have great taste; they just need great options. That is why Chobani produces only the highest quality, best tasting products made with only natural ingredients from its New Berlin, N.Y., production facility. The company is also constructing a second domestic production plant in Twin Falls, Idaho. The 900,000 square foot, high efficiency facility will be the largest yogurt plant in the county. As part of Chobani’s Nothing But Good philosophy, the company is committed to supporting local farmers and strengthening their surrounding area economies. Chobani gives a portion of its annual profits to charities worldwide through its Shepherd’s Gift Foundation, the company’s charitable arm. All Chobani products are gluten free, Kosher certified, made with milk free of rBST and provide two times more protein than regular yogurt, five live and active cultures, and three strains of probiotics. Chobani retails for MSRP $1.29/6oz, $3.29/16oz, $5.99/32oz, and $3.99/Champions 4-pack. Chobani products are available nationwide as well as in Canada and Australia.
