Seventy-eight percent of New Zealand consumers regularly choose to have two alcohol-free nights a week, survey says

LOS ANGELES , April 3, 2012 () – According to a survey by Canstar Blue, 78% of New Zealand consumers regularly choose to have two alcohol-free nights a week, Voxy reported March 29.

According to the survey, those residing in Wellington were the most likely to not indulge in alcohol for 48 hours (84%), followed by Dunedin residents (78%). Women were more likely than men to refrain from alcohol for two days a week, at 81% compared with 75%.

Craft beers are gaining in popularity, with 54% of respondents saying they like to try beer made by small producers, the survey added.
