Sealed Air to close Rochester and Scotia, New York, factories by May 10 and May 20, respectively, for economic reasons; 256 workers to be affected

LOS ANGELES , March 27, 2012 () – Sealed Air Corp. has filed WARN act notices on Feb. 9 stating that will close its Rochester and Scotia, New York, factories by May 10 and May 20, respectively, for economic reasons, Plastics News reported March 21.

According to the publication, the Rochester site produces food packaging for Sealed Air's Cryovac division and employs 186 people. The Scotia site makes polyethylene foam and employs 70 people.
