According to industry consultant Gomberg, Fredrikson & Associates, California wine sales grew to a record 211.9 million cases last year, up 5.6% in volume from 2010, MarketWatch reported March 22.
Data shows that the estimated retail value of those shipments rose 8% to US$19.9 billion.
According to the U.S. Tax and Trade Bureau, 120,000 new wine labels were approved last year.
