Austrian demand for soymilk predicted to rise 4% in 2012, research finds; dry weather in Argentina, Brazil could potentially limit 2012 soy availability

LOS ANGELES , March 21, 2012 () – According to research, Austrian consumer demand for soymilk will likely rise 4% in 2012, Canadean reported March 20.

During the fourth quarter of 2011, Austrian consumer demand for soymilk continued to increase.

Dry weather in Argentina and Brazil could potentially limit 2012 soybean availability. Wet weather could potentially lead to a late soybean harvest that is large enough to meet demand. If soybean availability is not able to meet demand, consumers might find substitutes for soymilk and soybean prices will likely increase.
