Irving Pulp and Paper mill fire in Saint John, New Brunswick, contained to woodchip mound, causes no damage to structures; fire under investigation

LOS ANGELES , March 9, 2012 () – An Irving Pulp and Paper Ltd. mill fire in Saint John, New Brunswick, was contained to a woodchip mound on March 9 and did not damage structures, according to a fire official, CBCNews reported on the same day.

Fire crews contained the blaze, which only burned a minimal amount of material, to a woodchip mound, according to District Fire Chief Kevin Forrest.

The fire is under investigation, and there were no injuries.

According to the company website, the Saint John mill has an annual capacity of 335,000 tonnes and employs 330 people.
