Hyundai Merchant Marine to raise rates on shipments from U.S., Canada to Argentina, Brazil, Dominican Republic and Uruguay; prices for 40-ft. refrigerated boxes to increase US$550

LOS ANGELES , February 29, 2012 () – Hyundai Merchant Marine has announced a general rate for cargoes from the U.S. and Canada going to Argentina, Brazil, the Dominican Republic and Uruguay, The Journal of Commerce reported Feb. 29.

For forty-foot standard or high-cubes the increase will be US$400 and for $320/twenty-foot dry containers. For forty-foot refrigerated boxes, the increase will be $550. For cargoes requiring special equipment such as open-top containers and flat racks, rates will rise $320/twenty-footer and $400/forty-footer for in-gauge cargoes, and $550/forty-footer out-of gauge cargoes.
