Cenveo Inc.’s Cadmus Printing will shut down its printing plant in Wilson, Pennsylvania, in about two months, affecting approximately 200 jobs, according to a company letter sent to the state, The Morning Call reported Feb. 28.
The layoff date will be April 27, according to documents filed with the state department of Labor and Industry.
The company had been negotiating a labor contract that expired in December with the Communications Workers of America union, which represents roughly 150 workers. The company had wanted to cut workers’ pay, and negotiations lasted for months.
Cenveo bought the plant in 2006 for US$235 million, and the site itself had been operating for more than 100 years.
