Hapag-Lloyd to add Baltimore to its ports of call on container line's North Europe-U.S. Gulf of Mexico route; move expected to increase throughput at Baltimore by up to 30,000 containers/year

LOS ANGELES , February 24, 2012 () – Hapag-Lloyd AG announced that Baltimore would be its first port of call on its North Europe to U.S. Gulf of Mexico route, The Journal of Commerce reported Feb. 24.

The addition of Baltimore to the German-based container line’s route is forecast to boost the port's throughput by up to 30,000 containers per year.
