Hapag-Lloyd AG announced that Baltimore would be its first port of call on its North Europe to U.S. Gulf of Mexico route, The Journal of Commerce reported Feb. 24.
The addition of Baltimore to the German-based container line’s route is forecast to boost the port's throughput by up to 30,000 containers per year.
