A cooperation between Belarus and China is behind plans to build a new 200,000 tonnes-per-year solid bleached paperboard and folding boxboard machine at the Geroi Truda paper mill in Dobrush, Belarus, reported EUWID-Paper on Feb. 23.
The machine will be the only one in the country’s Gomel region to produce virgin-fiber paperboard for the food, healthcare and cosmetics industry.
Approximately 70% of the output will be exported, with a focus on Russia due to its estimated demand of 1 million tonnes/year.
On Feb. 20, the Belarus government signed an agreement for a US$350M credit line during 2012-2014 from China Development Bank, EUWID-Paper reported.
