MONTICELLO, Iowa , February 9, 2012 () – The eastern Iowa city of Monticello will lose about 45 jobs when Georgia-Pacific closes its box plant.

Workers were told Wednesday the plant will fill orders over the next few weeks, then close.

Georgia-Pacific says it's had a tough time making the plant profitable. The production will be shifted to plants in Dubuque and in Oshkosh, Wis.

Atlanta-based Georgia-Pacific produces tissue, packaging and building products.

Monticello will be asking state agencies for help in getting new jobs for the nearly four dozen workers.
