Nestle Pakistan reported 2011 revenues of 64.8 billion Pakistani rupees (US$714.3 million), a 26% increase, and 2011 net earnings of 4.7 billion Pakistani rupees, a 13.5% increase, the Express Tribune reported on Feb. 9.
According to Managing Director Ian Donald, Nestle Pakistan is focused on growing the entire packaged foods segment in Pakistan. Nestle Pakistan plans to invest approximately 320 million Swiss francs (US$351 million) in growing in Pakistan.
Nestle Pakistan faces several challenges, including the restricted purchasing power of the Pakistani consumer and rising milk and energy costs. The company’s gross profit margins fell 1.2% to 25.8% in 2011.
