Hamburger Hafen und Logistik's container throughput at Port of Hamburg increases 21% year-over-year to 7.1 million TEUs in 2011; port logistics provider attributes higher throughput in part to strong growth in Asia, Eastern Europe

HAMBURG, Germany , February 7, 2012 (press release) – The Hamburger Hafen und Logistik AG (HHLA) has increased in fiscal year 2011 the container throughput by 21 percent.

This is the HHLA grown much faster than its main competitors and gained market share HHLA in fiscal year 2011, according to preliminary, unaudited figures, consolidated sales of around 1,215 million euros. (Previous year: 1,068 million €) and an operating profit (EBIT ) of around € 205 million (previous year: € 193 million) earned. The core business of the listed HHLA, the subgroup Port Logistics, generated sales of around € 1,190 million (previous year: € 1,043 million).
