Prices for benzene in Asia increased US$2 per tonne overnight Feb. 7 to $1,193.50/tonne free on board Korea, following prices for crude oil and U.S. benzene up, Platts reported the same day.
Prices for benzene closed up in the U.S. market Feb. 6 to $1,225/tonne while benzene in Europe settled at $1,247/tonne cost, insurance and freight Amsterdam Rotterdam Antwerp on Feb. 6. In early trading Feb. 7, bids in the European market for February benzene came in at $1,245/tonne and were met with offers of $1,260/tonne CIF ARA.
Platts noted that front month ICE Brent crude futures increased $1.70 per barrel overnight to $115.80/barrel on Feb. 7.
