Suzano's office in Shanghai, China, earns ISO 9001 Quality Management Systems certification, confirms ability to provide products, services that meet customers' needs, affirms compliance with laws, regulations

SAO PAULO , February 2, 2012 (press release) – The office of Suzano Papel e Celulose in Shanghai, China, earned the ISO 9001 – Quality Management Systems certification, with 100% compliance. ISO 9001 is an international standard that establishes Quality Management System (QMS) requirements for organizations. It confers credibility in terms of the company's ability to regularly provide products and services that meet customer needs and expectations, and it affirms the operation's compliance with applicable laws and regulations.

"This is an important step towards consolidation of Suzano's activities in Asia, a market that today represents 34% of our wood pulp exports," says Jorge Emanuel Reis Cajazeira, executive manager of Institutional Relations and Certifications for Suzano Papel e Celulose.

Suzano has a strategy of certifying all international commercial offices with ISO 9001 by the end of 2012. Currently, the certifications achieved abroad are:

Argentina (Stenfar) – ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and Forest Stewardship Council® (FSC®) Chain of Custody (2004).

United States (Suzano America) – ISO 9001 and FSC Chain of Custody (2010)

Shanghai (Suzano Asia) – ISO 9001.
