LOS ANGELES , February 1, 2012 () – German beer consumption was down 0.1% in 2011, a slight improvement compared to the average 2% reduction every year since 2006, according to the German federal statistics office, Reuters reported on Jan. 30.

German brewers sold 98.2 million hectoliters of beer in 2011. The federal statistics office said that warmer weather in Germany last year helped boost beer consumption.
